We would like to thank Aintree Community Association, The Townes of Fox Chase and the 197 donors who contributed to our 2023 fundraising campaign.  We deeply appreciate your financial support and kind words of encouragement.  Proceeds are used to fund maintenance and improvements to the median and adjoining areas along Fox Chase Boulevard. Spring 2024 improvement plans

As the weather warms up, Sitarz Landscape crews will perform typical spring maintenance activities such as cleaning up the landscape beds, edging, fertilizing and cutting back native grasses.  Later this spring we have a number of improvements and plant replacements planned for most of the islands along the boulevard. Hardy native plants and pollinator-friendly varieties of flowering perennials will be used whenever possible. In late May, Red Begonia flowers will again be planted at the Dunham Road entrance to add a splash of color at this busy intersection.

In the island between Chasse Circle and Southgate Course, you may have noticed that a clump of aging and diseased crabapple trees were removed by the City last fall. This area will be supplemented with top soil and covered with grass seed. A grouping of three multi-stem Redbud and Japanese Lilac trees will then be planted.  This is part of our long-term effort to reduce maintenance costs while retaining the tree grove concept within the median.  We are using donated funds that have been set aside for the past several years for this specific purpose.

CITY Brush Pickup Starts Soon!

Dates for brush pickup dates for eligible Eastside residents are April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug 19, Sept 16 , Oct 21 and Nov 18. We encourage homeowners to adhere to local ordinances and place brush on the parkway, in the front of your house or along the frontage where refuse/recycling is collected. We ask residents to not place unsightly brush piles along the Fox Chase Boulevard parkway. See the article below for more information. The Median Foundation reports inappropriate brush/yard waste placement incidents to the City of St. Charles using the St. Charles Connect website.

City Takes Action to Eliminate Brush Piles

The City of St. Charles has taken steps to address the unsightly piles of brush and yard waste that accumulate along Fox Chase Boulevard and elsewhere in the City. Here is a quick summary of the actions the City has taken in response to concerns expressed by the Median Foundation and other residents in the community:

Median Foundation Board Members applaud the steps taken by City administrators and fully support their commitment to maintain the beauty of Fox Chase Boulevard and other parkway areas in the City. We encourage neighbors to contact the Public Works Department at (630) 377-4405 (email: pw@stcharlesil.gov) or contact a Median Foundation Board Member to report residents that do not follow the Brush Pick-up guidelines.
